How can 'Shitty Two Sentence Horror Stories' be so effective in creating horror?

The hearse with the weird odor slowed to a stop before the entrance. The sound of pebbles could be heard bouncing on the ceiling. There were footsteps coming from the corridor, and there seemed to be someone sawing next door. The door knob to the room rattled slightly, and the faucet in the bathroom kept dripping even though it had been screwed shut. There was a rubber ball that rolled on its own underneath the bed. Wet footsteps started to surface one after another on the floor. At 3 am, Chen Ge held a cleaver in his hand as he hid beside the room heater. The call he was trying to make was finally answered. "Landlord, is this what you meant by 'the house can be a little crowded at night'‽"

John, who had been framed and wrongly imprisoned, was finally released. His five-year jail time had fostered his hatred toward the son of the Waters Conglomerate, Niel. However, John, who had no connections, could not do anything about it. When he had almost lost all hope while accompanying his girlfriend who was in a vegetative state thanks to Niel, he suddenly realized that there was a search bar right before his eyes! This search bar was just like the search bar in Google Chrome! After a long silence, John tried to type a line into the search bar. "How to accomplish a perfect crime without leaving any mishaps that will cause the death of Neil Waters?" Immediately after that, a line of words appeared on the search bar: "On March 19, 2021, at 3:29:19 PM, on the trash can at the intersection of Louis Street, place a Lincoln brand pencil that is 3.5 cm in length, with a 1 cm³ base area, and weighs 2.8 g. There will be a series of accidents that will result in Neil's death in a car accident!"

Feng slowly backed up to the door, “W—what’s up with you both?” Two tall blond men stalked closer and caged her in the corner, “Aiden, Ethan, you both are too—too close,” A warm palm suddenly gripped her waist and she was dragged onto Ethan’s warm body. “E—Ethan, let go,” she whispered peering into his unwavering green eyes. “I won’t and I never will let go,” he whispered close to her ear, “Feng, my dear Feng you have become so naughty, charming that bastard,” he groaned and nipped her ear. “W—what the hell do you mean!! He is just a friend,” Feng shouted pushing his head away. All of a sudden another pair of hands hugged her from behind, “Really? Then prove it to me,” “Aiden!! Not you too. How the hell can I prove something like that,” Feng shouted glancing back into his shimmering blue eyes. “Simple. Kiss me,” Aiden whispered with a blush. “Yes, kiss the both of us to prove your innocence,” Ethan chimed in with a naughty smirk. Well, lets just have my own mouse driver software get some headshots while I watch a movie. It’s perfectly legit, as it just speeds up the response time so that it clicks before I even get to the computer. Gambling sites and online casinos? Data-mining, number-crunching and image recognition! By utilizing computer knowledge, solving problems is easy! Some might get jealous, but hey! Just be like me, and use your brains for once! However, in the modern era, the gangsters and other shady businesses are moving their turfs towards the internet and gaming circles. What happens when they realize that Foo was a threat to their profits? Well, no suspense here, they killed him. That’s the end of story... if you are to believe the god that greets him after his death. However, can this story get a fresh new start when Foo somehow ends up in a game-like medieval fantasy world?
