First Driving Lesson Horror Stories: Share Your Experiences

Well, in my first driving lesson, I remember being overly cautious. I was barely touching the accelerator, and the car was crawling at a snail's pace. My instructor kept joking that we could probably be overtaken by a jogger. But it was important for me to get a feel for the controls gradually. It was also really difficult to remember all the mirror checks and blind - spot checks at the same time.

One of my first - time driving horror stories was when I was driving on a narrow mountain road. I misjudged a turn and almost went off the edge. It was terrifying. I slammed on the brakes just in time and my heart was pounding like crazy.

I once stalled my car at a busy intersection on my first day. All the cars behind me were honking and I was so flustered. I couldn't figure out what was wrong at first. Finally, I realized I had let the clutch out too quickly. It was really embarrassing.

Nervousness is very common. Most people are worried about making mistakes or causing an accident. Another common experience is having trouble with the basic controls like the pedals, the steering wheel or the gear shift.

I was driving at night through a forested area. My radio started making strange static noises and then went completely dead. At the same time, I noticed a pair of glowing eyes in the woods beside the road. As I drove on, they seemed to keep up with me. I sped up but they were still there. Eventually, I got out of that stretch of road and the eyes disappeared. It was so terrifying that I could barely focus on driving.

One common horror story is stalling the car multiple times. It can be really embarrassing when you keep doing it in the middle of the road. Another is accidentally driving on the wrong side for a short moment due to confusion.

I once failed my driving test because I got so nervous that I completely forgot how to parallel park. It was a total disaster. I was shaking and just couldn't do it right, even though I had practiced it many times before.

Well, my worst first driving story was when I was trying to park. I hit the curb so hard that I thought I had damaged the tire. I was so nervous and everyone around was looking at me. It was really embarrassing.

One time I was driving on the highway at night. Suddenly, a deer jumped out right in front of me. I slammed on the brakes and narrowly missed it. My heart was pounding so hard. It was really scary as it came out of nowhere.

One horror story was when I got completely lost on my first day at a new school. I was given the wrong directions to my first class and ended up in the janitor's closet. It was so embarrassing. I walked in, and there was this old man looking at me like I was crazy.
