Race for Life: Share Your Story - How Has the Experience Changed You?

Music has been a huge part of my life. It's helped me through tough times and made happy moments even better. It's like a constant friend that's always there.

My life story experience has made me more empathetic. For example, when I faced difficulties in the past, like losing a job. I then understood how others in the same situation might feel. So now I'm always more willing to offer help or just a listening ear to those going through tough times.

One of my most memorable experiences in my life story was when I volunteered at an animal shelter. I got to take care of all kinds of animals, from cats with broken legs to dogs that had been abandoned. I learned a great deal about responsibility and compassion. It also showed me how important it is to give back to the community and help those who can't help themselves.

It has made them more aware of safety. They might be always on guard now and more cautious in new situations.

Well, my life experience story is quite ordinary. I grew up in a small town. I went to school like everyone else, made some good friends, and had a lot of fun during my childhood. There were some challenges too, like dealing with school exams and occasional arguments with friends. But overall, it was a happy and formative time.

Books have opened up new worlds for me. They've given me knowledge, inspiration, and a way to escape reality when needed.

Years ago, the stories from the cancer research race for life often focused on individual researchers working in isolation. But now, it's more about teamwork and multi - disciplinary approaches. There are stories of oncologists working with geneticists, biochemists, and even computer scientists. They use big data and advanced technology to analyze cancer cells and develop new therapies. This shift has led to faster progress in cancer research.

For me, it was my mother. She is a cancer survivor. Watching her battle through the tough times made me want to be part of the Race for Life. I saw how strong she was, and I thought that by participating, I could give back and support others going through the same. It's a way to show my love for her and all those fighting this disease.

For me, it's 'To Kill a Mockingbird'. It made me see the importance of justice and empathy in a whole new light.

At a local running race, there was a woman who was running while listening to music. She was so into her music that she missed the turn sign and kept running straight. The marshals were shouting at her, but she didn't hear. By the time she realized, she had run quite a distance in the wrong direction. She was so embarrassed when she came back, but it was a really funny sight for the rest of us.
