Bullying is a very common horrible middle school story. Kids can be cruel to each other, either physically like hitting or verbally by teasing constantly. Another common one is unfair treatment from teachers. For example, some teachers might have favorites and give those students all the good opportunities while ignoring others.

In some schools, there are old, rundown buildings. I heard of a school where parts of the ceiling were falling in in some classrooms. It was a horrible situation because students and teachers were at risk of getting hurt.
