King Huai of Chu, Xiong Huai (355 - 296 B.C.) was the king of Chu during the Warring States Period. He was the son of King Wei of Chu and the father of King Qingxiang of Chu. During the reign of King Huai of Chu, he actively carried out reforms and appointed talents such as Qu Yuan. He had successfully defeated Wei, destroyed Yue, and expanded the territory of Chu. However, King Huai of Chu was greedy by nature and fell into the schemes of Zhang Yi, the prime minister of Qin, many times, causing the national strength of Chu to be exhausted.
