Xiao Feng, Founding Major General

Xiao Feng (1916 - 1991), formerly Xiao Zhongwei, was born in Taihe County, Jiangxi Province. He was the founding major general of the People's Liberation Army and was the deputy commander and consultant of the armored forces of the Beijing Military Region. Xiao Feng had participated in 1365 wars and battles in his military career and was awarded the Class 3 81 Medal, Class 2 Independent Freedom Medal, and Class 1 Liberation Medal. He also wrote Xiao Feng's Diary, which recorded his experiences during the 25,000-li Long March. As the commander of the famous Golden Gate Landing Battle in the history of the People's Liberation Army, he also wrote a review of the Golden Gate Landing Battle. General Xiao Feng's daughter was Xiao Nanxi.
