The Tale of Genji: Modern Version: Directed by Japanese director Akira Kurosawa, released in 2007. The film was adapted from Haruki Murakami's novel, The Tale of Genji, and presented the story of the Tale of Genji from a modern perspective. 4. The Tale of Genji: A Millenium of Love: Directed by Japanese director Uno Shuri, released in 2017. The film was adapted from Haruki Murakami's novel, The Tale of Genji: The Sacrifice of Autumn, which tells the romantic love story between Genji and the eggplant female official. As for the Millennium, the Millennium of Love, the Millennium of Mystery, and other words, they were all nicknames in the Tale of Genji. The Millennium refers to the part of the Tale of Genji called " Light Source's Love ", also known as the Love of Lily; the Millennium refers to the romantic love story between Genji and the eggplant female official, known as the Forbidden Love; the Millennium Mystery refers to the truth of many mysterious events in the Tale of Genji that are still being explored by many scholars and researchers.
