The Development of Detective Fictions in China

Mystery novels were a genre of literature that relied mainly on plot reasoning and logical reasoning. It usually involved the psychology of the characters, the laying of clues, the collection of evidence, and so on. The development of mystery novels in China could be traced back to the 1920s. In the 1990s, Chinese mystery novels began to move towards a variety of topics, not only covering the elements of traditional mystery novels, but also science fiction, horror, psychology and other types of mystery novels. At the beginning of the 21st century, with the rise of online literature, the creation form and audience of Chinese mystery novels had also undergone tremendous changes. At present, Chinese detective novels have become an important part of Chinese literature. A number of excellent detective novels have emerged, such as "White Night Journey","The Sacrifice of Suspect X","Detective Conan" and so on.
