The Twelve Hours of Chang 'an was a spy novel set in the Tang Dynasty. It told the story of an official dealing with various crises in Chang' an. " San Yan " was a collection of short stories, including " Yu Shi Ming Yan "," Warning Shi Tong Yan ", and " Awakening Shi Heng Yan ". The three books used Feng Menglong's fables as the theme to describe various life philosophy and moral education. Yu Shi Ming Yan was regarded as the pinnacle of ancient Chinese novels and the first truly modern novel in the history of Chinese novels.
