A paper-based novel was a novel published on paper by a publishing house or media. Unlike electronic novels, print novels usually required readers to buy a physical book or borrow it to read the entire novel. Print novels were usually published in journals, magazines, newspapers, collections, and booklets. These journals would regularly release new works and arrange and categorize them according to different topics, types, and styles. Compared to electronic novels, print novels had a smaller audience and could only attract a fixed group of readers. In addition, due to the high cost of publishing and distribution, print novels were usually priced higher than electronic novels. However, paper-based novels still had high literary value and quality, and were deeply loved by readers.
