Tan Qian (1399 - 1449) was a historian and an astrologer during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. His book, The History of the Nation, is considered the first comprehensive and systematic historical work in the history circle of China. Tan Qian was known as a "erudite scholar" in Chinese history.
