Li Boren and Li Zaolin were both warlords in Shandong Province during the Republic of China, but they were not the same person. Li Boren (1896 - 1943) was a native of Qufu, Shandong Province. During the Republic of China, he was a warlord of Shandong Province and served as the chairman of Shandong Province and the chief executive. He performed well during the warlord era and ruled most of Shandong Province. Li Zaolin (1909 - 1946), also known as Ziyu, was a native of Qufu, Shandong Province. He was also one of the warlords in Shandong Province. He had served as the chief of staff of the warlords in Shandong Province during the Republic of China. Li Zaolin also ruled Shandong Province during the warlord era, but because of his cruel political methods, he was regarded as a "warlord bully" by some people. His rule was relatively short.
