This poem was from the Tang Dynasty poet Bai Juyi's "Fu De Gu Yuan Cao Farewell." The whole poem was as follows: The grass on the plain withers and thrives once a year. The wildfire never ends, and the spring breeze blows, it grows again. The far-off fragrance encroaches on the ancient road, the clear green connecting the deserted city. And send the king's grandson away, full of parting feelings. This poem depicted the process of the plants in nature growing and withering through the cycle of spring, summer, autumn, and winter. The phrase " when the leaves fall, they protect the flowers " meant that the leaves would protect the flowers because they provided nutrients and shelter the flowers from the wind and rain.
