Journey to the West was a long novel written by Wu Chengen, a novelist of the Ming Dynasty. It mainly told the story of Xuanzang, a monk of the Tang Dynasty, who went to India with his three disciples, Sun Wukong, Zhu Bajie, and Monk Sha, to obtain the true scriptures after going through 81 difficulties. They had gone through many hardships and encountered many dangers and challenges, such as the attacks of demons, monsters, and evil forces. They also encountered the help of many immortals and eminent monks. They overcame many difficulties and finally reached India, obtained the scriptures, and returned to the Tang Dynasty. On the way back to the court, they experienced a series of twists and turns, but in the end, they successfully completed the mission and became heroes. This novel, with its unique plot, rich characters and profound thoughts, became a classic of ancient Chinese literature and a treasure in the world literature.
