Wang Guozhen (December 26, 1947-October 26, 2013) was a contemporary Chinese poet known as the "Father of Modern Poetry". His poetry style is fresh and natural, expressing his deep thoughts on life, love, nature and so on. It is deeply loved by readers. Wang Guozhen's representative works include "Love Life","Hurry","North Island Poetry Selection","Mountain Flowers" and so on. His poems were known for their conciseness, freshness and profoundness. He was regarded as one of the outstanding representatives in the history of contemporary Chinese poetry. Wang Guozhen had won many literary awards, including the Chinese Poetry Award, the National Literature Award, and the "Literature and Art Achievement Award" from the Beijing City Federation of Literature and Art Circles. He died on October 26, 2013 at the age of 62.
