Kong Yiji was a poor scholar. He did not read much, but he liked to drink. One day, he came to a tavern and met the waiter. The waiter was very friendly to him and recommended some good wine to him. Kong Yiji drank happily and started chatting with the waiter. In the chat, Kong Yiji learned that there was a death row prisoner in the tavern. He asked the waiter curiously,"What is that death row prisoner?" The waiter replied,"He's a murderer and was sentenced for stealing." After hearing this, Kong Yiji was a little afraid, but he continued to drink. At night, Kong Yiji was drunk by himself when he suddenly heard a noise outside and went out to check. He saw the death row prisoner standing at the door of the tavern and shouted at him,"Don't come here again. There are already others here!" However, the prisoner ignored him and charged at Kong Yiji even more violently. Kong Yiji was very afraid. He wanted to run away, but he had no money or weapons. He could only stand there and watch the death row criminals kill him. The despair and helplessness he felt never appeared again. This story tells us not to be afraid of those who look dangerous because they may not be as dangerous as we think. However, he had to remain vigilant and not let his guard down.
