Lu Yan's Tang poem, Shepherd Boy, mainly depicted a scene of a shepherd boy dressed in black herding cattle in the mountains. Through vivid descriptions, the poem showed the innocent, lively and lovely side of the shepherd boy, as well as the magnificent scenery of nature. The poem wrote: Black-clothed Shepherd Boy Riding Black Bull At the foot of Peach Blossom Mountain, cattle return. The wind blows the green mountains and shakes the shadows the water rises, the shallow waters sway leisurely. The shepherd boy ran through the mountains and occasionally stopped to admire the scenery. He felt happy when he saw the rising tide of the river at the foot of Peach Blossom Mountain. The poem also described how the shepherd boy could not help but sigh at the beauty of nature when he saw the swaying green mountains. The artistic conception of the whole poem is far-reaching, showing the harmonious co-existence of man and nature and the fresh and natural beauty of Tang poetry.
