Zhou Shuren (September 25, 1881-October 19, 1936) was originally named Zhou Zhangshou, Yu Mountain, Hou Mountain. Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province, was a great master of modern Chinese literature, a great ideologist, a revolutionary, a fighter for democracy, and a cultural celebrity. Zhou Shuren was one of the most important figures in the history of modern Chinese literature. He was known as the pioneer of the "Vernacular Movement", the leader of the New Literature Movement, and one of the founders of modern Chinese prose. Zhou Shuren's works covered many fields such as novels, prose, poetry, criticism, translation, etc. Among them, the most famous novels were "Scream","Hesitation","The True Story of Ah Q","Spring Silkworm" and so on. Zhou Shuren's prose style is fresh and natural, the language is concise and bright, full of personality and depth of thought, and is regarded as one of the representative works of modern Chinese prose. Zhou Shuren also actively participated in historical events such as the New Culture Movement, the May 4th Movement, and the War of Resistance against Japan, making important contributions to China's cause of democracy, freedom, and progress.
