" Camel Xiangzi " was a modern Chinese story about the struggle of a young man, Camel Xiangzi. The following is an extract of the reading comprehension: Xiangzi had never had a good life since he was a child. He grew up in a poor village and his family's livelihood depended on him alone. His father often overworked himself to make money and eventually died. This made Xiangzi determined to live a better life and become a successful person. Xiangzi began to go to school, but because of his poor family, he could only go to a primary school. In school, he showed outstanding intelligence, but because of his poor family, he could not get a better education. Later, Xiangzi came to Beijing and became a camel driver. He made some money through his own efforts, but it also brought a lot of difficulties and pain. He had to endure tremendous stress and fatigue every day and was often discriminated against and treated unfairly. Xiangzi began to think about his life and future. He wanted to live a better life, but in the process, he experienced many setbacks and difficulties. He tried hard but was still unable to escape the fate of poverty and injustice. The whole novel reflected the poverty, injustice and cruelty of Chinese society through Xiangzi's story. It also showed a young man's pursuit and struggle for a better life, as well as his courage and tenacity in the face of setbacks and difficulties.
