The Plot of Journey to the West
Journey to the West was an ancient Chinese novel. It mainly told the story of Sun Wukong, Zhu Bajie, and Monk Sand, three people who went to the Western Heaven to obtain scriptures after going through eighty-one difficulties to resolve the evil forces of demons and ghosts. At the beginning of the story, Sun Wukong was expelled from the Heavenly Palace because of his mischievous behavior. Later, he went to India to retrieve the Buddhist scriptures under the leadership of Tang Sanzang. On the way, they encountered many demons and ghosts, such as Red Boy, White Bone Demon, Flaming Mountain, Water Curtain Cave, etc. Sun Wukong, Zhu Bajie, and Monk Sand fought fiercely with these demons and finally obtained the true scripture. In the process of retrieving the scriptures, they encountered many difficulties and challenges, such as the scriptures being robbed by evil forces, the attacks of monsters, etc. However, Sun Wukong, Zhu Bajie and Sand Monk overcame these difficulties with their own wisdom and strength and finally reached the Western Paradise. In the Western Paradise, they met many Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and other immortals. They also met many friendly characters and finally completed the mission to retrieve the scriptures. The whole story was full of adventure, friendship, love and other emotional elements. It was a classic ancient Chinese novel.
