A fragment of a character's profile
The side profile of a character was a common literary technique. It described the situation, details, and behavior of the character so that the reader could have a deeper understanding of the character's personality, thoughts, emotions, and so on. Here are some snippets of the characters: He was wearing a faded suit, his hair disheveled in front of his forehead, and he had an impatient expression on his face. His fingers gripped the teacup in his hand tightly as if he was thinking about something. She sat at the other end of the table with her hands around her knees, looking depressed. She was holding a book in her hand. The pages of the book had been turned into tatters. The air was filled with a damp and musty smell. He was walking in the garden, surrounded by a dense forest. The sun shone through the leaves on his face, making his skin appear golden. With a cigarette in his mouth, he gently brushed his fingers across the ground as if he was looking for something. She was wearing a white dress and a pair of black high heels. She stroked her hair with her fingers and smiled confidently. He walked into the room and found it filled with all kinds of books. He looked around and found a corner filled with old newspapers and some abandoned documents and notes. The above clips described the situation, details, and behavior of the characters to allow the readers to have a deeper understanding of the characters 'personalities, thoughts, emotions, and so on.
