Don Quijote was a Spanish follow-up to The Iliad and The Odey. The story was about a wealthy noble youth named Don Quijote, who began his absurd adventure because of his disgust for the aristocratic society. On his journey, Don Quijote met many different characters, including a clever Cervantes teacher, a stupid knight, a crazy giant, a beautiful girl, and so on. He had all kinds of stories with them, stories that covered adventure, love, friendship, politics, and so on. Finally, Don Quijote realized that his journey was not a real adventure but a journey of self-torture. He finally returned home and realized his mistake and decided to give up his fantasy and pursuit. Through the story of Don Quijote, the novel reflected the various problems of Spanish society at that time, including aristocratic privileges, chivalry, political corruption and so on.
