Liao Zhai mainly used the narrative style of the legendary novels of the Tang and Song Dynasties, namely the romantic narrative style. This style of narration emphasized mythology and mysticism, often depicting characters as supernatural beings and unfolding the plot through mysterious events and adventures. In Liao Zhai, all kinds of immortals, ghosts, monsters, supernatural events and characters were described in a romantic way, making the story more vivid, magical and mysterious. At the same time, Liao Zhai also adopted the narrative structure of classical literature, such as the total score and the chapter, to make the story more complete and rigorous.
