Chapter 2: Ambitious.
{ 18 years after the death of Himmel, the hero.}
Location: The outskirts of Holy City, Strahal.
~MC pov~
' The fu*k! My head is killing me.' waking up having a huge headache sure isn't a nice way to start the day. Nevertheless, I opened my eyes slowly as I didn't know what to expect.
I expect to be in some kind of basement or in a hospital and if I let my imagination run wild, maybe in a fully White room. If you know what I mean that is.
Anyway, I didn't expect to wake up under a tree. I air feels fresh. The wind has a cooling effect here. But I can't enjoy it due to having this fuccking headache!
' This is the worst headache in my life.' Fortunately, it's starting to fade away. After the headache comes to a barrable level I take a good look around my surroundings. All I could see was trees all around.
' Thank God. I watched Bare Grills Jungle [ Sorry if I got the name wrong ] show on Discovery.'
I stopped my thoughts as I saw two people standing not far away from me. An old man around 90 or so years old and a cute girl around 7-9 years old.
The interesting thing about them is their hair colors. Especially the girl, who has purple hair. I already have an idea about my station from her hair color. Staying here won't do anything.
' I guess I should talk with them. I just hope they will understand me.'
They watched me as I made my way towards them. If staring could make a hole through someone then the girl would have made a couple of on me by now.
I mean, I know I am handsome and have unique eyes but you don't have to stare at me like that, you know!
' Damn, am I getting scared of this little girl now?'
Well, I can't call her little as I myself have become little too. ' What dose it called? Shota right? Whatever.'
I stopped thinking about that for now and how quickly I became adapt to my new body. I am still confused as to where I am and I think my face is showing that too.
" Hey old man and cute girl, where are we?" I asked them after showing a polite smile.
The old man raised his eyebrows at me. I think he is surprised at my manners. ' I know how to ask someone a question.' I thought smiling inside.
The old man smiled after that. " Shouldn't you first introduce yourself, young man? "
My smile became a little awkward after that. ' Right. I was supposed to introduce myself first. Sigh~what a blunder.'
" Cough, ah yes. Hello, my name is Akash, Akash Panday. Nice to meet you old and cute girl." I said with two hands together in a prayer position and bowed my head a little. It was taught by my ma.
" Hm, alright young man. Although your introduction was a little weird nevertheless. Hi, my name is Heiter. And this cute girl beside me is Fern. "
The old man now introduced as Heiter and the cute girl now Fern blend their head a little down to show their respect.
" As for your question. We are far from a city. To be exact the outskirts of Holy City, Strahal. "
" The where now?" I asked as I was starting to put the pieces together.
" Strahal." The old man answered my question without looking bothered.
' Suddenly passing out, waking up under a tree, meeting an orderly old man who might be really strong. Just one thing messing.'
" Hey, old man, random question. Can you do magic?"
He looked confused by my sudden question but answered nonetheless. " If you are talking about normal magic then no I don't. I am what you call a priest. I use divine magic granted by the goddess herself. But Fern here," moving his to her direction "started learning magic about half a year ago. And think she is quite talented at it." He finished giving her a warm smile. That must have embarrassed her as she turned her head away from us. We could also see her ears becoming slightly red.
' Cute.' I thought. That's a face I would like to see every day. Anyway, that's not important right now.
' Magic huh?' I know what it means but I just want to be sure.
" Miss Fern, if you don't mind please show some magic," I said making my head slightly down. It must be weird seeing a kid with this kind of manners.
I saw the old man smile a little at that. He walks towards Fern and pats her head. " Go on Fern, show him what you can do." She just closed her eyes and gave a determined nod.
She then took her staff that was beside the tree and started pointing it at the sky. I was watching her closely so as not to miss a single thing. Suddenly I started to see some kind of blue light gathering around her staff. I read too many novels to not know what that is.
I am sure of it. I clearly didn't know anything like this in the past but somehow I am sure what that was.
That's mana.
But the show didn't end there. The mana started to take shape. I started to focus on the spot where the mana was gathering and again like before suddenly my vision changed and I was able to watch mana from a really close range. I can see how the mana is. I can see they are like atoms but different. They don't follow the law of anything from my world. It's being created and destroyed simultaneously. But that doesn't mean they are erased from existence. They get sucked by the other mana around them.
Anyway, that's for later. I wanna see what Fern was trying to show me. As soon as I wished for the power to stop I started to see normally again. I can still see mana but not that up close.
I see the mana taking the shape of a ball it's done in a crude way as the mana partials are not mixing well. It's like, raw brute force is being only used here. But that doesn't make it less interesting!
After the form was complete she threw it up in the sky. It flew quite high and suddenly it blaster in the sky.
' It's beautiful.' It truly is a beautiful thing to look at. I then saw old man Heiter moving towards a panting Fern. It seems to wear her down by using all her mana. She is panting and sweat started to come all over her face. Oh, she is wearing a white shirt(?).
"That was amazing Miss Fern! I never saw anything like that before. Can you teach me how to do it miss? Please! Please! " I said while practically praying to her.
" Now, hold on a bit young man. We don't know anything about you. Nor do you about us. Let's first get to know each other first alright? " Heiter put me out of my trance by shaking me a bit.
I am a bit embarrassed after that but that won't get in my way grind! After all with magic, I could be strong and if I grind hard enough I might become the strongest! But for that, I have to gain their trust first.
" Alright. As I said before, my name is Akash. I don't know how I got here as even I don't know about that. My guess is I was most likely kidnapped. I used to live in a remote village with no one having magic my parents are not in this world anymore. I have no food, no water, or anything to survive.
You guys look alright to me. So can you let me live with you guys for the time being? Oh and teach magic too? In exchange, I can do all of your day-to-day life work. Like heavy lifting or any other kind. I wanna be a warrior too. So I have to work hard every day. All I want is three times a meal and a place to sleep. Obviously, I am not giat everything but I can be better.
Please! Please! " I said with a 90° angle bow.
I wanna be the strongest. But that doesn't mean the path will be easy. It will become more difficult as I progress. I can't be too arrogant. I will need all the help I can get.

~3rd pov(Heiter)~
He looked at the young kid standing in front of him. He can tell he didn't tell everything but the one that said we're true.
That might be a bit complicated. He is not lacking any money. In fact, it's the exact opposite. Sure, he has changed and already adopted a kid but this time it's different. He knows how good of a girl Fern is. She tries to hide it but he knows she sees him as his grandpa now. She is a very obedient and kind girl.
But this one, he can feel it. He will be a person who wants to be fre- no a troublemaker. Hmm, a lady killer too if it goes anything by his face and the obvious flirting, no that's a big world. The obvious silver tongue he has. Already calling Fern cute.
' While I agree that she is cute, yes. But it coming from a 7-year-old feels strange.'
He doesn't seem any problem with him staying with them. Plus Fern will have a helper/ friend. But the decision isn't only mine. With that in mind I turn towards Fern.

~ 3rd pov(Fern)~
Fern was now feeling more and more sympathy towards the boy Akash Panday. She hasn't met anyone having two names up until now. She did know that only nobles have two names. And if you ignore his weird clothes he does look like a noble.
She didn't know how to think about the boy she brought back with her. It hasn't been much time since her family passed away. She doesn't know if she is ready to allow anyone else to enter her life right now.
But she knows he doesn't have anyone in this world too. In fact, he is worse than her as he truly have no one in this world. But...
' I can't forever be like this. I have to change for my family and Heiter-sama.'
She looked determined after seeing his tumbling body. He is afraid just like her back then. So, when she saw Heiter-sama looking at her way she took a deep breath and gave a nod.
He just smiled and opened his mouth to answer,
