Chapter 7: Chapter 6

Arthur woke up early to the chirping of a Fletchling on a nearby tree. Sunlight filtered through the curtains, casting a warm glow across his room. He smiled and stretched, still not fully awake. Arthur reached for a bag of Pokémon food and walked over to the window, offering the Fletchling a handful of seeds. The little bird chirped happily, taking the food and flying off to start its day.

After the Fletchling left, Arthur turned his attention to Froakie. He fed his water-type companion its favorite Pokémon food—an assortment of small, soft pellets infused with seaweed and a hint of citrus. Froakie croaked in delight as it munched on its breakfast, and Arthur couldn't help but grin at how much his Pokémon enjoyed the special meal.

Once Froakie was satisfied, Arthur headed to the bathroom to freshen up. He quickly took a shower and dressed for the day. By the time he made his way down to the hall, he was ready to start his adventure.

To his surprise, Arthur only found Diana waiting for him in the hall. She seemed a little surprised to see him awake on his own.

"Good morning, Arthur!" Diana greeted him, her voice cheerful.

"Morning, Diana," Arthur replied with a smile. "Where's Mom and Dad?"

"They're outside in the compound. They asked me to bring you out," Diana explained.

"Well, I'm already here, so we can go together," Arthur said.

Diana led him through the halls and out to the vast compound of the mansion. As they approached, Arthur saw Alex and Elena waiting with big smiles on their faces. In front of them was a shiny new bike, a gift for Arthur.

"Surprise!" Alex called out.

Arthur's eyes lit up with excitement. "Wow! A bike! Thank you, Mom, Dad!"

"We figured it would help you get around faster and give you more time for Pokémon training," Elena said, her smile warm and proud.

"Exactly! You've got a long journey ahead of you, son. Make the most of it!" Alex added.

Arthur hugged his parents, grateful for the thoughtful gift. He couldn't wait to try it out.

After saying his goodbyes and promising to keep in touch, Arthur left the mansion on his new bike. He rode through the bustling streets of Lumiose City, feeling the thrill of freedom as he navigated the traffic.

His first destination was Vert Plaza, where he planned to stop by Café Cyclone for a good coffee. Once he arrived, Arthur parked his bike and made his way inside. He ordered a strong coffee and found a cozy spot to enjoy it.

As he was sipping his drink and watching the world go by, Arthur felt a tap on his shoulder. He turned around, and his eyes widened in surprise.

"Gym Leader Olympia?!" he exclaimed, unable to hide his shock.

Olympia, the enigmatic and powerful Psychic-type Gym Leader of Laverre City, stood before him. Her long purple hair flowed gracefully around her, and her piercing eyes held a sense of wisdom and mystery.

"Good morning, young trainer," Olympia greeted him with a serene smile. "You seem surprised to see me."

"Uh, yeah! I mean, it's not every day you run into a Gym Leader at a café," Arthur said, trying to collect himself.

Olympia chuckled softly. "True. I was on my way to visit Professor Sycamore and decided to stop for a cup of coffee."

Arthur nodded, trying to think of something clever to say. "Well, it's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Arthur."

"Pleasure to meet you as well, Arthur. Tell me, are you a trainer embarking on your journey?" Olympia asked, taking a seat across from him.

"Yes, I am," Arthur confirmed. "I just got my starter Pokémon yesterday, and I'm starting my journey today."

"Ah, a fresh start. How exciting," Olympia said, her expression thoughtful. "Remember to stay true to yourself and your Pokémon. The journey will be full of challenges, but it is also a path of growth and self-discovery."

Arthur listened intently, absorbing the wisdom she shared. He couldn't believe his luck, meeting Olympia on his first day of his journey.

"Thank you for the advice," Arthur said, grateful for the unexpected encounter.

Olympia nodded, finishing her coffee and standing up. "I must be on my way. Take care, Arthur. May your journey be fruitful."

Arthur watched as Olympia left the café, still a bit awestruck by the encounter. He finished his coffee and gathered his things, feeling even more inspired to begin his journey. With newfound determination, he hopped on his bike and continued his adventure through the Kalos region.

Olympia was making her way to Professor Sycamore's lab, lost in thought about the young boy named Arthur she had just met at the café. The moment she saw him, she could sense strong soul fluctuations emanating from him, a rare occurrence. It piqued her interest—usually, a stronger soul meant the trainer had the potential to be a psychic. Still, she decided not to spoil the surprise for him; discovering one's own gifts was part of the journey every trainer had to undertake.

Back on the road, Arthur was oblivious to Olympia's musings about him. He was focused on his journey as he rode his bike down South Boulevard toward Route 4. He had carefully planned his Pokémon team and knew that Route 4 was the perfect place to catch the two Pokémon he needed for his Kalos team.

As he continued his ride, Arthur passed through lush forests filled with wild Pokémon. He decided to take advantage of the opportunity and train Froakie along the way. The forest was teeming with life—the sun filtered through the dense foliage, casting dappled shadows on the ground. A chorus of bird Pokémon chirped from the treetops, while Bug Pokémon scuttled around the underbrush.

Arthur soon found himself face-to-face with a wild Bidoof, which had wandered onto the path. The Pokémon seemed curious about Arthur and Froakie, and before Arthur could decide what to do, the Bidoof charged forward, ready to battle.

Arthur called out to Froakie, "Let's do this, Froakie! Get ready!"

The battle began with Bidoof launching a Tackle attack. Froakie nimbly dodged to the side, and Arthur quickly commanded, "Froakie, use Water Gun!"

Froakie responded with a powerful Water Gun, hitting Bidoof and causing it to stumble back. The wild Bidoof, annoyed by the attack, shook itself off and countered with a Rollout.

Arthur's eyes widened as he watched Bidoof roll at high speed toward Froakie. "Froakie, dodge!"

Froakie deftly sidestepped the first Rollout, then leapt over the second, just barely avoiding the attack. Arthur knew that with each Rollout, Bidoof was gaining momentum and power.

Thinking quickly, Arthur came up with a plan. "Froakie, throw Frubbles in its path to slow it down! Then follow up with Pound!"

Froakie shot out a barrage of sticky Frubbles, covering the ground and slowing down Bidoof's Rollout. As Bidoof struggled to regain its speed, Froakie seized the opportunity. It charged forward and delivered a powerful Pound attack, striking Bidoof and causing it to faint.

Arthur cheered for Froakie. "Nice work, Froakie! That was awesome!"

After the battle, Arthur approached the fainted Bidoof. He reached into his bag and pulled out some Pokémon food, offering it to Bidoof. The Bidoof slowly regained consciousness and gratefully accepted the food.

"That was a good battle, Bidoof," Arthur said, smiling. "You fought well."

He also took out some healing items and treated Bidoof's wounds, making sure the wild Pokémon was well taken care of. Once Bidoof was fully recovered, it gave Arthur a nod of thanks before scurrying back into the forest.

With the battle over, Arthur continued his journey through the forest with Froakie by his side. He felt invigorated by the successful training session and looked forward to the adventures that lay ahead. The day was still young, and there were plenty of Pokémon to catch and train.
