Chapter 40: CH 040
I continued, walking past the painting. the whole interior looked more akin to a vintage manor. Mostly made out of wood and cushions, decorated with redwood. "the person who lived in this must-have special taste." I said observing the well-carpeted floor. "should I say to my father that you are going to buy this or what" Tony asked me, "Well yes, I love this place ." I said turning around "What else does this have ?" . "it has 40 rooms on three floors, the more you enter the more it will expand itself. Most of the rooms are closed since no one requires forty rooms." He said sarcastically. "I want to know where the witches were kept." Asked Momo in fear. "I don't have any clue about that, as it was back then. But I can guarantee that there is nothing wrong with this place because my father used to come here. Come on you are only buying this as a joke." Tony said . "yeah I agree with him Momo, we are only buying this as a joke anyway even if it's haunted I don't mind checking out the ghost." I added, "If the roads are blocked how is it possible for your father to come and stay here.".
Tony grinned "There is a dirt bike wanna race.". "oh boy, that's the best thing you have ever said. Let's go, Momo stay here I will go for a ride. When I come back I will bring something to eat." I said excited, "no way I am not staying in this creepy place. Argh! I should have stayed in my room." She said in contemplation, I just patted her head "I will get dinner, after that we play some family games, you know what I mean," I said in her ears. She blushed and nodded with a smile. Tony and I went to the garage, and I looked at the bike, I have driven a bike before in my world but they used to be cruisers, not dirt bikes. "I will take the red one and you drive the other one with the black and white design, in around 10 miles there is a food shop called Dhaba we can grab something to eat there.".
Momo Yaoyorozu's pov.
I tried to contain my fear but it was tough with this complete silence. "I should stand my ground next time. He is going out of control, and how did Tony know that we did such things? " I said biting my nails, "also Kaneki hasn't been spending time with me like he used to be, after coming to Boston he has only been concentrating on other things instead of spending time with me. I can't say that to him, aren't men supposed to read the room?" I said to myself annoyed by my boyfriend's new friend who knows too much. I don't get it isn't he supposed to be on my side? no way am I jealous.
As I was thinking, I heard floorboards creaking noise from the farthest end of the house. A spark of electric current ran through my spine, "is there someone there." I said creating a metal rod from my chest, "I will not call you once again, Kaneki it's not funny." I said shaking. I slowly walked to the end of the house, and as I walked a lot of room presented itself. All the doors were made from polished redwood, and I started to open them one by one. "there are a lot of rooms," I thought to myself, slowly checking the rooms one by one. All the rooms were similar with a blackboard and some chairs scattered. I heard the sound again, and I quickly turned around, to see the hall with no one In there "Kaneki don't make me swear, you know me right I don't like these kinds of pranks." I said and started to create an infrared scanner.
"let's see how you hid from me now," I activated the scanner and started to scan the whole house. For some reason the basement is black. I looked past that and continued to concentrate on the scanner, there was no one except me. That's When the realisation hit me I gulped, 'How could he erase his presence? This is not Kaneki, what is this? I walked to the kitchen or the back side of the house. I slowly opened the door, I saw a figure in the kitchen wearing a white lab coat and a black crow mask. "aargh!!" I screamed and ran to the front part of the building when I stumbled and fell down. I looked behind me the person was gone. I sighed "Just an illusion Momo, just an illusion. Kaneki it's gone enough" I said to myself. As I was flat on the floor, I felt something wet dripping on my forehead. I looked up to see the same being walking on the ceiling. I kept gasping for air, the figure right at me. "please" as my heartbeat launched through the roof.
That's when my saviour appeared "Momo I am back". The moment the sound came by, the monster went away. I slowly sat on the floor still shivering from the previous incident. "Momo look at this, I brought aloo parotta, naan and paneer butter masala. This was Tony's idea by the way. Why are you sitting on the ground?" he said pointing at my least favourite person, I quickly stood up and ran towards my boyfriend hugging him tightly. "did something happened Momo, " he asked, I just shook my head and sink my head into his chest. "let's eat the aloo parotta," said Tony. I really hate him for wasting all my moments like this. Kaneki rubbed my hair and whispered in my ears "Tonight is going to be a long night for you". All my previous fears melted away. I nodded and grabbed the food from Tony, "Hump, go and get the plates. I will stay in the hall." I said and started to unpack the dinner they brought. Kaneki loves this place, I can't tell him about my stupid illusions.
