Chapter 16: Demon Slayer | Kai vs Doma - 2nd
No one mustered a single word between the two fighters, Kanae could sense the tensions rising ever so greatly between the two monsters as time passed by.
Then the two once again vanished from her sight moving at a speed she couldn't hope to follow with her current power which frustrated her.
Their speed isn't something she could fathom, she can see nothing but blurry figures.
Doma created a replica of his Fan this one made out of pure ice and blood. He had learned to combine both his demon art ability and demon blood into one becoming something else entirely.
Kai is using the newly purchased dual blades executing high speed attacks to the point that it left a multitude of after images.
Ice and sparks appeared each time their weapons clashed.
Kanae was forced to escape the battle zone to ensure her own safety as the mere shockwave of their exchange is enough to kill her a thousand times.

"You're certainly something else to be able to fight me this far and to almost kill me, kukuku."
Doma grinning said as he dodge another one of Kai's barrage of high speed dual blade strikes.
"Stop with that laughter mister demon, it sounded creepy."
Kai retorted as he sent a kick to Doma's gut.
Doma did not expect Kai to resort into something else other than a sword was caught off guard. He quickly reacted to defend but was late. The kick successfully connected and he was thrown gliding to the air, Kai then appeared above the gliding Doma as he used [Teleportation] his swords aiming for his neck.
His sudden appearance above gave Doma a shock for his life.
Unfortunately, this time Doma was able to quickly respond manifesting an ice lotus shield to protect himself against Kai's sure kill strike.
---Boom---
The lotus shield shattered in contact but it gave Doma enough time to back off dodging Kai's terrifying assault.
The time Kai's sword got in contact with Doma's lotus shield Doma used his own shield as a platform to throw himself out of the way successfully escaping Kai's assault.
Doma now stood atop one of the still intact building a fan covering his toothy grin but if one looked closely they might see a couple of sweats dripping from Doma's head to his neck.
'Relying on my sword skills and Moonlight doesn't seem enough to end this hilarious guy.' – Kai thought.
[Partner be careful… I've analyzed individual Doma. He seems to be growing the more you clash.] – Rafael informed Kai.
'Growing! Like a typical main character in heroic stories…' – Kai was astonished to hear Rafael's assumption.
[Affirmative, I've confirmed that individual Doma's fighting capabilities had increased by 8% since the start of the battle.] – Rafael replied which made Kai's grim widen.
"Ugh, how troublesome." – He said with a troubled voice but his excited expression said otherwise.
"Big sis Kanae, you better leave this place or you'll become a collateral damage if you stayed any longer as I cannot guarantee your safety."
Kai said to Kanae who could only grit her teeth in frustration after hearing this and thought.
'They aren't even serious. Just how powerful can they be, isn't this a bit too ridiculous.' – She thought giving Kai a nod as she dashed out of the place.
She didn't hesitate on following Kai's advice knowing full well that her presence is nothing but an inconvenience to Kai.
"Oh ho, you taking me seriously now." – Doma mused hearing Kai's proclamation.
He ignored the running Kanae.
"Yep, after this fight there might be no more red light district."
Kai slowly closed their distance as they converse.
"That would be bad, please don't do that, do you know how hard it is to find a tasty female human. I have grown to love this place if you destroy it I might get angry."
Doma has a pitiful look on his face as he said those words which Kai just responded with an ever so growing toothy grin.
"You don't have to worry, after this fight there is no need for you to eat because you'll cease existing. How can you eat something at that point?" – Kai retorted.
"Fair enough."
Doma also showed his wide toothy grin as they stood up ten meters before each other.

'What's wrong with those two? A kid and a demon casually talk about killing each other.'
Kanae had already distanced herself from the two monstrous beings.
She's already a kilometer away from them when she hears an ever so familiar voice.
"Sister…"
She looks back to where the voice originated from and there she saw one of the reasons why she couldn't just die yet.
"Shinobu…"
Kanae pounced at Shinobu like a cat embracing the startled Shinobu tightly as she let out her tears.
"SISTER…"
Noticing her sister's tears and trembling body Shinobu couldn't help but embrace Kanae back tightly.
"Sister, what's going on?" – Shinobu asked the worried about her voice is clear for anyone to hear.
"I m-manage t-to survive and be together with you and Kanao longer."
*Sniff* *Sniff*
"What happened?" – Shinobu.
"I…I fought the upper moon t-two…" – Kanae muttered in a trembling voice.
"U-upper m-moon two…"
Shinobu couldn't help but let out a gasped hearing her sister's claim about fighting the upper moon two.
It has been a century since a sighting of an upper moon has been confirmed and her sister just proclaimed that she had fought an upper moon two.
"Where is the upper moon two, sister. We need to end him." – Shinobu proclaimed.
"N-no, no Shinobu…" – Kanae.
"Sister we must defeat him." – Shinobu.
"Shinobu, we can't." – Kanae.
"What do you mean?" – Shinobu asked confused.
"We don't have a chance." – Kanae replied.
Shinobu's eyes widen after hearing her ever so confident and easygoing big sister's reply.
"Why…I don't understand." – Shinobu.
"I couldn't even follow the demon's movements. I could see nothing but a blur, we stood no chance at all if we fought him." – Kanae.
Shinobu's eyes widened, if what her sister had said is true then there's no hope for the two of them to fight something they couldn't even react to, they be nothing but chickens in a slaughter house.
Shinobu was about to leave when she realized something important.
"Sister, who is the one fighting the upper moon 2 right now?" – Shinobu ask after noticing the loud explosions coming from the distance.
Kanae looks at his sister with a weary smile as she looks to the side clearly avoiding the question.
Shinobu raised her eyebrows. She couldn't think of someone being able to fight someone even her sister couldn't react to.
'Sister is acting suspicious.' – Shinobu thought.
*Stare*
Kanae doesn't know how to answer her little sister.
Would she believe her if she said that a kid around the age of 5 to 6 years old is facing the upper moon two demon, even though she couldn't believe her own words even though she witnessed the fight front row.
"I'm sure you wouldn't believe me. So it's better to witness the fight yourself."
'Sister is acting up again, very suspicious.' – Shinobu thought raising her eyebrows thinking that this might be one of her sister's usual antics.
Kanae decided it's better to let Shinobu see it herself with her own eyes how a kid is fighting a upper moon two demon in an equal ground.

Kai appeared before Doma raising his sword aiming to decapitate the fella in a speed twice that of his former speed leaving nothing but a trail of after images behind his path.
This surprised Doma once again but he was able to quickly react as his perception grew the more they fought each other.
He manifests another lotus flower shield to protect himself.
Kai was baffled about Doma's decision as Doma should have known by now that his lotus flower shield is useless against him due to the power of Moonlight enhancing his penetrative power turning every defensive abilities and techniques before him useless.
Kai knows that Doma is a genius just like him so he must be planning something not knowing what it was Kai decided to push forward and see it for himself after he destroyed that lotus flower shield.
Kai was confident no matter what scheme Doma had prepared against him is useless against his absolute power.
Still Kai decided to act cautiously.
Kai destroyed Doma's lotus flower shield.
He then saw Doma's wide grin widening ever so slightly behind the shattering shield.

Kai heard Doma's serious yet at the same time cheerful voice, voicing out the name of his technique.
[Be careful master, his attack isn't as simple as you think. Your frost immunity is useless against the incoming attack.] – Rafael warned Kai.
Kai could clearly feel a bit of threat coming from blood mist approaching him.
Following Rafael's advice and his own hone instinct Kai manifested a barrier using, Uriel, Lord Of Vows.
The moment the blood mist and the barrier collided a corrosive force began to slowly corrode the shield.
'Rafael, what's going on? How can a mere technique be able to corrode my multi dimensional barrier?'
The surprise and astonishment is apparent from Kai's voice.
Rafael immediately noticed this just let out a sigh, instead of being worried that the enemy had power up Kai was instead more curious and happy than cautious to this development.
