Chapter 10: Best Ways to Twist Your Ankle
Alucard left the mansion the next day afternoon and walked by a particular river in Zhonghai, he tried to organise and summarise all the intel that spread through his head
It was indeed not same China he knew despite their similarities.
There was a lot of crucial information within Sheng Minglou's mind regarding this China's infrastructure and politics: the man had lived in the eye of the hurricane for the most part of his life, and although he wasn't in the top ten of the richest in China, he was no doubt in the top 30, his words carried weight.
The Capital was still Beijing and despite the fact that it was a popular democracy, a bunch of 'ancient' clans controlled every aspect of it; not from the shadows as their existence and influence were public but yet unhindered, commonfolk would never be able to step above them.
Yang Clan, Ning Clan and Tang Clan were the three clans at the top of the chain and the absolute powerhouses of China.
Cai Clan, Yan Clan, Yuan Clan and Li Clan were behind them as the support, also playing essential roles in the country.
The Yang Clan's specialisation was in the Military Sector and they controlled most of China's armed forces, directly or indirectly. Clan Head: General Commander, Yang Gongming.
The Ning Clan were the one that appropriated the Political and Governmental division. Their Clan members held key positions within the country's politics. Clan Head: Ning Guangyao.
The Tang Clan were China's economic titans, their members were major stockholders of the biggest corporations within many industries that were key to the country's development. Clan Head: Maple International Corporation's Chairman, China's number one corporation with a value of 522 billion dollars in passives, services, properties and shares, Tang Zhechen.
The secondary clans held prominent positions in China's many sectors.
*Cai Clan: Police and Justice Department. Clan Head: Cai Yunchen.
*Yan Clan: Science and Development. Clan Head: Yan Buming.
*Li Clan: Secret Service and State Security. Clan Head: Li Moshen.
*Yuan Clan: News and Broadcast Channels. Clan Head: Yuan Hewei.
He was a little surprised that China's infrastructure was so well organised among those few families, his mind wandered and started articulating plans, it would be too boring to just go and brainwash every clan head, he wanted something more interesting!

Just as he was walking and thinking while looking at the river, a beautiful middle-aged woman with auburn hair, jogging gear and a harness jogged down the river shore in the opposite direction.
Her eyes instinctively moved to look at him and she almost stopped in her tracks the moment she saw those pink-slitted eyes!
As if in a trance of her own, she slipped a step and twisted her ankle!
"AHHHG!!" The sense of pain was instantaneous and overwhelming, a shout of pain and the next thing was her falling right towards Alucard's direction!
The vampire himself, deep in thought, felt surprised upon sensing someone approaching him.
He caught her causally and what followed were the woman's painful billows as she held her ankle!
"AHHG!!".
Alucard quickly put her on the ground, "I won't bother asking if you're alright..." he said nonchalantly and checked on if there was any hospital in a radius of seven kilometres.
There was none...
"Do you know the location of the nearest hospital?" He asked, it would be enough if she just said a direction.
The mature woman breathed in and out, trying to contain the pain, only to move her hand slightly towards one direction, north.
"Y-Yezhen- Health Centre, is the nearest... I-think i-t would be-" she said with a stutter, the pain was simply too much! She wanted to say that it was too far for them to go but he didn't give her the time!
Alucard nodded and with a quick movement, surprised her by taking her in a Princess Carry.
But that would be only the first of her surprises.
The next moment Alucard kicked the ground and jumped high enough to reach a lower building nearby!
The woman's eyes opened wide and her countenance palled that very moment! As if the pain of her ankle disappeared with an act of magic, she hurriedly enveloped Alucard's neck! Afraid of falling!
"KYYAAAA!!!" She shouted loud enough to probably disable a normal human's eardrum with ease.
Alucard kept jumping from building to building. Sadly, he couldn't teleport while carrying anyone as he was the omnipresent one, not them.
Within minutes of jumping, he finally sensed a hospital and went there, to his surprise, it wasn't the Yezhen Health Centre she mentioned, but it would do.
He fell in front of the hospital with a simple Tud and walked inside.
By the time they reached the reception, the woman had lost all colours and seemed more dead than alive!
"Mr, What can I help you with!?" Upon seeing the man carrying someone, the receptionist asked flustered as she saw the pale-skinned woman.
"What do you think you can help me with? Brush my teeth?! This woman twisted her ankle while running, I want the doctor to attend her." He said with a huff, not putting the brunette down.
'Twist her ankle? I thought she was having an episode of Pneumonia and Anemia!?'
On Alucard's arms the mature beauty recomposed herself a little, 'T-That must have been an illusion, yes... That's it, I was so pained upon falling that I was seeing things.'
She felt the man carrying her and threw him a glance, only to get captivated by those pink eyes again.
The lady didn't feel like being put down soon.
"Mr, I'm sorry but you need to check in first and queue behind the other patients!" The receptionist said lightly.
Alucard looked back and saw at least 20 people giving him awful looks.
"I think we should-" the woman, seeing the situation tried to interlude.
"Check-in this, check-in that... Take me to your boss." He said with red eyes and the receptionist immediately nodded, leading the way.
Upon arriving at an office, the receptionist opened the room and let him in.
A middle-aged man in a lab coat, clearly a doctor, looked through a stack of papers wondering who just got in his office without knocking.
Not wasting any time, Alucard threw questions and orders. "Who are you?"
"My name is Lan Weixuan, head doctor of this premises sir." The man answered as if he was a robot, leaving the papers he was checking aside, and standing up with a bow.
'Eh?' The auburn-haired woman felt something weird was going on with the way people reacted to this man's words, 'Why is everyone just doing what he says without at least questioning it once?'
"Very well." He moved to a bed that was on the side and placed the woman there who let go reluctantly, not before shooting him an aggrieved look.
"This woman twisted her ankle, I want your hospital to attend her free of charge until she's ready to go and in perfect condition. Do you understand?"
"Y-Yes Sir, it shall be done as you say." The doctor's words stunned the woman greatly!
She had been treated this way in the most influential hospital and healthcare centres in Beijing and Shanghai, but even then she had never seen a head doctor act so submissive!
They'd usually ask for a reward just as big as their services!
'Who are you?'
Alucard nodded and without even saying anything to the woman, started walking away.
His actions stunned her even more! Are you leaving me here just like that!?
'Sack of potatoes! Is that what I'm to you!?'
"Wait! at least tell me your n- ", but it was too late, by the time she'd finished her sentence, she blinked and the man was no longer there.
'What the fuck!?'
"Ma'am, your name is Tang Wan, CEO of Maple Corporation, right? Could you please fill this questionnaire before we proceed with your treatment?" The doctor asked, still with red eyes and passed her a sheet of papers.
She ignored it and hurriedly asked, "That man! Do you know who he is!?"
"No, I have never seen him before ma'am." He answered nonchalantly.
"Then why are you doing what he said if you don't even know him!?" What was going on?! First, they technically flew up buildings and now this!?
She had hoped it was her mind having delusions before, but she couldn't ignore the things happening in front of her. 'I'm definitely not dreaming, I'm sure!' She thought and clutched her pained head.
"Huh? Because he commanded it, and if he commanded it, it has to be done." The man said matter of factly, like a deep rule engraved in himself.
As if he was programmed to accomplish a task.
'That doesn't make sense!'
Tang Wan kept asking questions even as the doctor attended her, using lotions and eventually putting her leg in an anklet.
All of his answers lead to the same 'He ordered, so it has to be done'
"Who exactly are you...?" she mumbled to herself, wondering if she would ever see him again.
She would eventually... and it would change her life.
