Which is why current Era, like I said, Allura NEVER goes past 4 sigils. Because she was wounded deeply in this fight. Every single time she goes 5 and up, bordering on her Blessing of Severance, severe pain and torturous re-opening of wounds happens to her. Like in the fight with Teranis, gritting teeth in pain just bringing out her what we now know is her Relic. And using it with her Second Resonance. The wound so famous that even New Age Lords know of it, and Gin very well aware, because he was there when it happened.
The more Allura uses her blessing, the more pain she would be in and the faster it'll take over. Essentially making her a normal person with Sigils. However, because she's focused most of her Sigils on her Blessing, both of them are linked together!

Oh sweet god, this is it, this is the moment in time when he becomes the Betrayer! At their weakest, and when the gods are ready to fight. Allura and Kaden learn of what he does, Allura is the first one to suffer, the moment her Authority starts to die out. Kaden FEELS viscerally what happens to his Lua, her connection to Velouria, and regrets that he wasn't there with her. A deep seeded regret that "If I was there, maybe there would have been a chance, Lua would have made it out okay. And Master would still be alive..." And the moment Cayla, who sees Kaden and Allura as a brother and sister, suffer. Suffer the pain of having a fragment of Velouria ripped out of them, watch as her dear Velouria suffers in agony having her fragments ripped from her chosen Apostles, and despises and hates Nyer with every single fiber of her being.
