Yes and no. It's true that woman did work, but usually only for family trades/shops and on family/husband farms, as such they'd never really have their own money, only family money. You'd never see a woman blacksmith, tanner or guard, as those we're jobs for me.
Lie Fan actually admires women like Lu Lingqi and Cai Wenji, they can shine bright in this era where men have the highest authority, while women are only to serve their husbands and children.

I do mostly. But there are limits to that suspense of disbelief. Not understanding one of the most basic human biological systems is one of them... I still enjoy the story mind you, but things like this do and will pull me from immersion at times. Tis just one of those things.

He's not really a villain either though. Morally bankrupt maybe. So far he's been more like those villains who somehow do more good than actually bad...
For a moment I didn't want to think about anything or anyone. I wasn't afraid of death I furious that I didn't kill those two myself. I was angry and had no place to vent it. When I was fighting the Justice League I was holding back because they were known for their no killing policy. They fired on my ship but I couldn't really defend myself. I was made powerless, vulnerable all because they were supposed to be paragons of virtue and things usually just work out for them. I know that I am not the good guy and that villains don't get happy endings in these things but knowing that didn't help me. I was going to do my best to never be helpless again anyone that came after me and mine would pay dearly for the attempt.

That is a terrible, terrible idea. Calling the Sphere would also call other things to join it. While Earth in Destiny was prosperous for a time, eventually whatever ever the hell was chasing it caught up and humanity was basically almost snuffed out then and there. And they were far more united than DC/MARVEL verse Earth is currently...

This became exceedingly more dangerous than I expected as it appears my intended puppets had similar ideas to mold me. I thought that they saw me as a father figure but apparently their affection ran deeper into a far more terrifying direction. Although I do admit that the are beautiful and it was flattering... were those really my opinions or did they already start "fixing me". It was entirely possible they were already learning from M'Shen whose mind even I couldn't detect if she wanted to hide from me.

Unfortunately that also means I won't be able to do shady things easily as before. I would now have to curate my life to not inspire doubt as there were plenty of those who already do. How do I know this well the internet is a wonderful place where everyone can share their thoughts and ideas. Although the majority of humanity likes me and my unique ideas there are still plenty of nay sayers who doubt my intentions. I whole heartedly agreed with them after all not all that glitters is gold.

To be absolutely honest I think that it more likely that these supposed heroes are afraid to lose their pedestals. If such power was available to everyone then how were they special? They like to act as mighty paragons of justice but refuse to truly be the equal of the masses. Batman was a perfect example of this privilege even though he wasn't super powerful he used his generational wealth to acquire his abilities and gadgets to fight crime. He does a lot of charity work but honestly it is mostly keep up appearances as he does not directly involve himself in it. He is a literal billionaire who started beating up criminals to deal with the death of his parents.
